Agenda Highlights for 7/26/22 and 7/27/22

The Fort Smith Board of Directors study session meeting scheduled for 7-26-22 will begin with an update from the Arkansas Department of Transportation on their projects in Fort Smith.

Then the Board will receive an update from Fort Smith Animal Haven regarding their animal shelter services.

Then the Board will discuss homelessness including addressing solutions for negative perceptions and problems caused by some members of the homeless community, especially downtown. Leaders from local homeless services organizations will be involved in the discussion.

July 27, 2022

The special study session portion of the Fort Smith Board of Directors meeting to be held 7-27-22 will be a discussion about the upcoming budget including establishing city-wide budget goals, reviewing budgeting policies, discussing General Fund needs and revenues, and a review of 2022 revenue trends. A mid-year budget review will be presented to the Board.

In the special meeting portion of the meeting, a meeting date and time will be scheduled to discuss planning for the water line from Lake Fort Smith that is set to (when completed) be 30 miles of 48 inch pipe providing a redundant water supply and additional flow to the east side of Fort Smith.

In the Executive Session portion of the meeting, the Board will discuss performance raises for the City Administrator and Internal Auditor.
