Agenda Highlights 12/20/21

At the Fort Smith Board of Directors meeting held Tuesday 12-14-21, Director Morton called for a special study session be held 12-20-21 to discuss multiple items he felt needed discussed promptly but did not disclose during that meeting what those items would be. After discussion with Administrator Geffken, the items were condensed into one agenda item simply titled “Discussion Regarding the Election for the 0.25% and 0. 75% Sales and Use Tax” with no further elaboration on any more specifics about the topic to be discussed included in the agenda packet.

The Board will also discuss the $95,000 one-year consulting contract with First Western for managing the city’s insurance and risk management policies. Phillip Merry from First Western will make a short presentation and John Wells from the Arkansas Municipal League (through whom the city has some insurance coverage) may also be on hand to answer the Board’s insurance related questions.
